Carpenters and Joiners Workers Records |
|
The History Carpenters and Joiners were needed to help with the many new factories and houses for workers need in the industrial revolution. Joiners were carpenters who used joints to contruct wooden items while carpenters used nails and screws. What records can you find? The modern records centre at Warwick University maintain the archives of trade union records including the various carpenter and joiners unions. A personal visit or hiring a researcher would be required as the records are not yet online. * County Records Office and Local Museums both hold records of relevant firms and individuals. Searches should be made firstly by the individual persons name, then by the firms name and lastly by the trade.
