Family bibles were very popular in Victorian times.
Inside the front cover the family details would be carefully inscribed.
The minimum included would be the children's names and dates of birth although it was common to also record other momentous events in the life of the family.
Often the bible acted as storage for other important pieces paper such as baptism records so check for any loose paper in between the pages.
Ask around your living relatives to see if any family bibles survive in your family.
Copy or if possible without damage to the bible photocopy any entries.
