The History

The Church began in small ways in 1820 at New York, USA.

The first church was established in England in 1837 and the World HQ of the Church in Salt Lake Valley  in 1847 then followed  a rapid growth which has seen then established throughout the world.

They are often referred to as Mormons.

The Church of the Latter Day Saints has by far the best family history pages amongst religion because of their beliefs about the continuing importance of  their ancestors.

They run Family Search which is  the biggest free database for family history which contains details of all known members and their ancestors.
