Social Workers Records |
|
The History The first social worker was appointed to a London Hospital in 1895. Since then there has been a steady growth of social workers. .What records can you find? Most records of social workers employment and records kept by social workers on their clients will not be available for data protection reasons. * The modern records centre at Warwick University maintain the archives of trade union records including the various social workers unions. A personal visit or hiring a researcher would be required as the records are not yet online. * Social workers are usually state unemployed so local councils may have personnel records. * County Records Office and Local Museums both hold records of relevant firms and individuals. Searches should be made firstly by the individual persons name, then by the firms name and lastly by the trade.
